I would like to ask if there are software tools (freeware or licenseware) to convert *.VHDX files to *.VHD?
What I tried:
Mar 07, 2020 Rather than converting a TIB file to a virtual disk file, which requires additional operations to bring the virtual disk into use, Acronis Backup performs the conversion by recovery of a disk backup to a fully configured and operational new virtual machine. Virtual machine is created in the folder/on the datastore of the virtualization server. Here is how-to convert your Acronis Image (.tib): 1.) Start Acronis and go to Tools-Convert Backup to Virtual Disk. 2.) Choose your image file (usually stored on external USB drive) and click on Next. 3.) Choose the format for your disk. You can choose from different formats of Virtual Disks (VMware Server, Microsoft Virtual PC, XenServer. I start Acronis True Image Echo Server from the Start Menu. Click Tools from menu and click Convert Backup To Virtual Disk.- Conversion via Hyper-V Manager.
- Conversion via Powershell.
Tib To Virtualbox ConverterBoth ways failed.

I was using linux RHEL OS and it seems that suggestion @user3549168 gave which quite worked for me pretty well. I did some modification however. The command worked for me that convert vhd to vdi is while I was in the folder vhd file exits: sudo vboxmanage clonehd inputFileName.vhd outputFileName.vdi -format vdi. Command in practical use.
My computer/cpu aren't SLAT-ready, so Hyper-V doesn't work.
What I tried too:
- Conversion via Oracle VirtualBox (using a batch command).
This failed because VirtualBox says that the *.VHDX file has wrong headers.
Bette[BETTER] Tib To Virtualbox Converter OnlineBut that must be nonsense: I created the *.VHDX via Disk2vhd two times ... first time on an external usb hard disk and another time on a network drive. VirtualBox Manager says both *.VHDX files are corrupt ... ( I don't believe it!).
As an alternative I have Acronis Image Files (*.TIB), created by using the current Acronis Home Edition (2016).
Is there a possibility to get the *.VHDX or the *.TIB converted and imported into Oracle VirtualBox?
